In order to deliver better services, Cambridge City Council, South Cambridgeshire District Council and Huntingdonshire District Council have formed a strong partnership. In this case, when looking at shared services ICT appeared to be a good place to start. Firstly a single, back-office service would save money with no impact on frontline services to the public. And secondly, ICT is a pivotal part of the redesign of all other services. As a result of merging to standardise ICT services, it brought the three councils £250k of savings in year one.
